History was repeating itself. Once again the groom was replaced at the last moment, but this time he wasn't kidnapped. Fate had him back out itself. Unlike before, this marriage wasn't out of love, but an inconvenience. While Saqib's heart beats for Arzoo. Her heart was shattered into pieces. 'I am...... sorry, Arzoo." His voice repeated in her mind as tears cherished her cheeks. Arzoo's gaze went from her parents to her grandparents, to her relatives. Searching for one person, who knew what she was feeling right now. She raised her eyes to his, slow and unwilling to find his gaze was already fixed on hers. Only to find him seated on the groom's seat. "Do you Saqib Hamza Khan son of Hamza Rizwan Khan take Arzoo Ayaan Khan as your wife?" The Qazi asked, his eyes settled on the groom. "Why him though?" "Kyuki Agar Mera Baad Tumhe Koi Bepanah Mohabbat Karta Hai, Toh Woh Hai Saqib." Imran said with a smile. "Mujhe Kisi Aur Ki Biwi Ki Jagah Tumhare Bewa Bankar Zindagi Bhar Rehna Manzoor Hain." Arzoo exclaims while tears continue streaming down her eyes. "Par Mujhe Yeh Manzoor Nahi, Arzoo." Imran said a bit angrily. "Unlike other men, you read in novels, I want you happy, your whole life instead of grieving my absence." "Qubool Hai." Saqib says loudly, emphasizing each word as if telling Arzoo that he was there for her like always. But this time not as her best friend, but as a husband. A single tear slid down her eyes, which had his chest tighten. With that, she was now, Arzoo Saqib Khan. She got married to her best friend instead of her first lover, Imran. Zoya nearly loses her posture, but Ayaan's hand found her waist to secure her balance. Tears blurred her vision. As she utters, "Ayaan, Humne Koi Zyadti toh nahi ki na, Arzoo Ke Saath?" For once Ayaan felt at a loss for words. In what felt like forever Ayaan whispers, "I don't know. Bus Yahi Dua Hai Ki Hamara Faisla Inke Haq Mein Ho." *** Arzoo Ayaan Khan instantly fell for Imran Bakhtiyar Sheikh after spending some days with him. His vibes matched hers. Neither of them noticed the small crowd of employees gathering outside the glass door, whispering and glancing in curiosity. The tension between Dua and Sameer grew, but they remained oblivious to the audience forming just beyond the threshold. Sameer looked at her, confusion crossing his face. "Did you just curse me?" Throwing him a murderous look, she walked past him, her shoulder brushing against his with a sharp impact. He let out a groan of pain as he heard her whisper-yell a series of Korean words, clearly meant for him to overhear. "Eotteohge naega michin sarameul salanghage doeeotji?" I glanced at the packed suitcases resting beside our bed, a hint of worry tugging at the edge of my thoughts. Pulling off my watch, I placed it on the bedside table, then turned to Sobia. “Are you taking the kids on another vacation?” I asked, trying to keep my tone light. Silence met my question, thick and heavy. I studied her face, but something was different. The Sobia standing before me seemed like a stranger, an unfamiliar glint in her deep black eyes that I couldn’t quite place. Her usual warmth had been replaced with a look I couldn't read—a look that unnerved me. “Sobia?” I pressed, a strange unease settling in. She took a small breath, her gaze unwavering. “Shahzain,” she whispered, her voice laced with something I couldn't define. She reached out, handing me a file. Her hand trembled slightly as she extended it toward me, the thin folder looking impossibly heavy in her grasp. I frowned, reluctantly accepting it. There was something ominous about this, something that didn’t sit right. My eyes flickered between her and the file, heart hammering as I flipped it open. Inside, the neatly typed words struck me like a punch to the gut. Divorce Papers. I looked up, meeting her steady gaze, hoping I’d misread, that there was some kind of mistake. “Sobia...what is this?” My voice came out rough, almost a whisper. She took a step back, folding her arms defensively across her chest, her jaw set in a way that told me she’d made her decision long before I’d walked into the room. “I’m leaving, Shahzain,” she said, her tone calm but resolute. “This...whatever we have...I can’t do it anymore. I’m taking the kids and leaving this house.” Shock morphed into anger, and I clenched my fists, the sting of betrayal sharp and immediate. “After everything, you’re just... leaving?” I spat, struggling to keep my voice steady. Sobia’s gaze softened, but only slightly. “It’s not about giving up,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. “It’s about finding peace—for me, for the kids. I can’t keep pretending.” “Pretending?” I echoed, feeling something unravel within me. I had thought we were happy, or at least close enough to it. “I thought we were working through this. I thought—” “We were surviving, Shahzain. But that’s not the same as living. Not for me, and certainly not for our children.” I shook my head, the words feeling like knives. “And you think leaving is the answer?” “Sometimes, letting go is the only way forward,” she replied, though her voice cracked, betraying a hint of the pain she was carrying. “What about us?” I asked, desperation seeping into my voice. Her silence was louder than any words she could have spoken. It pressed against my chest, heavy and suffocating, making the air in the room feel stifling. I stood there, watching her turn away from me, her gaze fixed on a distant point I couldn’t see. I wanted her to look at me. To yell, to cry, to do anything other than stand there with that cold, broken expression that tore me apart. After what felt like an eternity, she finally spoke. Her voice was so quiet I almost missed it, but the word's rang clear, slicing through me like a blade. “There hasn’t been an ‘us’ for a long time, Shahzain.” The finality in her tone struck me harder than I expected. I took a step forward, desperation clawing at my throat. “Love comes with an expiry date, Sobia? Is that what you’re saying?” She didn’t answer immediately, her shoulders stiffening as if bracing herself against my words. When she finally turned to me, her eyes shimmered with unshed tears. For a fleeting second, I thought I saw something—pain, hesitation—but it vanished, replaced by a calm that felt unnatural. “So… you don’t love me anymore?” I hated how vulnerable my voice sounded, like a man begging for scraps of something he had already lost. Her eyes closed for a moment, and when she opened them, a single tear escaped down her cheek. She wiped it away almost angrily, her hands trembling. “It’s not me, Shahzain,” she whispered, and her voice shook like she was holding back a storm. “It’s you. Your love for me had expired long before mine ever could.”

I stormed towards him, anger blurring my sights. The moment I was in front of him, I grabbed hold of his collar with my both hands. As I yell, "Are you cheating on me, Shahzain?" Seems like I took him by surprise, it took him a whole minute to realize what was happening right now. And the moment he did, he loosen my hold on him and pushed me, which had me stumbling back. "Even if I do, it shouldn't matter. I was forced into this marriage, Sobia." He yells back. "I didn't have a choice. But you had. You shouldn't have agreed to this marriage." Only if he knew, all my life it wasn't me who got to select the choice. Neither is this one, the most important one in my life. "I won't tolerate this. Either you leave me or leave her." I stated, anger clouding my senses. He walked towards me and took a hold of my chin in his hand and stated clearly. "And where's the fun in that? You ruined my life. I promised to ruin you till death do us a part." I pushed him hard. I had already suffered much from my so-called family. And I refused to get suffered by my husband. It's all about the limit. The moment I had my limit of misery and pain, I will end all of this. "Are you sure, it's not the other way around?" A humorless chuckle escapes my lips, as my darkest shade of eyes met his grey ones. "Also, just wanted to correct you, my dearest husband. You can't ruin what's already ruined, Shahzain." "And if I find out that you kept meeting her behind my back. I will ruin you and that lover of yours." With that I stormed out of our room, making up my mind. ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ Shahzain Shah was a well-established lawyer at the age of twenty-eight. His world used to revolve around Falaq Rehmaan until Sobia came into his life and tear them apart. Sobia Shaikh, at the age of twenty-three, was very well aware of how twisted and cruel people were. Her life was already dark and painful. She was already having family issues and she didn't want a husband's issue on top of it. But seems like fate has other plans. They both end up in an arranged marriage. Will this be their happily-ever-after or would end up being a big disaster? Will Shahzain be able to heal her wounds or end up adding new ones?
